Pitched Roof GRP Door Canopies

A pitched roof gives a front door the look of a proper porch: a classic apex that sits naturally on cottages, period homes and new builds alike. Our pitched roof canopies are moulded in one piece from GRP, so you get that traditional shape without the weight, rot or repainting of timber. Each one is made and finished in North Yorkshire and arrives ready to fix. For a cleaner, more modern line, see our flat roof canopies, or browse the whole GRP canopy range.

The classic porch look
A pitched canopy frames the doorway with a gable roofline and bracketed supports, the shape most people picture when they think of a traditional porch. Styles range from the compact Rydal for narrower doorways to deeper-eaved designs like the Ennerdale, so you can match the proportions of your entrance.

Moulded GRP, not timber
Every canopy is a one-piece GRP (glass reinforced plastic) moulding. It won't rot, warp or need painting, and a wash with warm soapy water is usually all the upkeep it needs. The finish is applied before it leaves us, so there's nothing to do on site but fix it to the wall.

Sizes
Most of the range comes in standard widths of 1450mm, with several models also made at 1960mm and 2800mm for wider doors and side-light openings, all with a 750mm projection. Check each product for the exact sizes it's made in, or ask us for a quote if your opening needs something different.

Light to handle, simple to fix
For its size, GRP is remarkably light. That makes a pitched canopy easier to lift into place than a timber or lead-roofed porch, and it puts less load on the wall fixings. Most installations are a two-person job.

Made in the UK
Each canopy is designed, moulded and finished in North Yorkshire. As with any canopy, check the supplied fixing and load information against your building and location before installing.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes do pitched roof canopies come in?
Most models are made 1450mm wide, and several (including the Ambleside, Ennerdale, Fewston and Langdale) are also made at 1960mm and 2800mm. The standard projection is 750mm. Each product page lists exactly which sizes that style is made in.
What are they made from?
GRP, glass reinforced plastic, also known as fibreglass. Each canopy is moulded in one piece, so there are no joints to leak and nothing to rot.
Do I need to paint a GRP canopy?
No. The canopy is pre-finished before it leaves us and doesn't need painting. An occasional wash with warm soapy water keeps it looking fresh.
Can I fit a pitched canopy myself?
Yes, if you're comfortable fixing into masonry. GRP is light, so most fits are a two-person job with standard tools. Follow the fixing guidance supplied with the canopy and check it suits your wall.
Pitched or flat roof - which should I choose?
A pitched roof suits traditional, cottage and period frontages and gives the classic porch look. A flat roof has a cleaner, more modern line and suits contemporary homes. Both are moulded GRP and equally low maintenance.
